Song of Seikilos (Ancient Greece, 1st century CE)

This is one of the most ancient melodies that have survived until our time, it was found engraved on a tombstone, in present-day Turkey. The find has been dated variously from around 200 BC to around AD 100. The song has a serene, transcendent beauty.
